一、hard 描述词、副词。作描述词标明“坚固、硬的、困难、难的、艰
苦、尽力”；作副词标明“尽力、用力、凶狠地、紧紧地、强烈地”。例如：
I have to work hard today. 我今日得尽力作业。
She has thought very hard about her further plan.她细心思考了她将来的方案。
It was raining hard outside. 外面雨下得很大。
Diamonds are the hardest known mineral.钻石是已知的最坚固的矿石。
It is hard shovelling snow. 铲雪是个苦活儿。
二、hardly 副词。意思是“几乎不、几乎无法、完全不是、很少”。常和can、any、ever等词连用。例如：
I can hardly believe it. 我几乎不信赖。

hardly ever go to concerts. 我很少去听音乐会。
Hardly any of the students did well on the test, so the teacher explained the lesson again.几乎没有学生能做好这个查验，所以教师又把课程说明了一遍。
