一、《胀肚的狐狸》
A hungry Fox found in a hollow tree a quantity of bread and meat which some shepherds had placed there against their return. Delighted with his find he slipped in through the narrow aperture and greedily devoured it all. But when he tried to get out again he found himself so swollen after his big meal that he could not squeeze through the hole and fell to whining and groaning over his misfortune. Another Fox happening to pass that way came and asked him what the matter was; and on learning the state of the case said “Well my friend I see nothing for it but for you to stay where you are till you shrink to your former size; you’ll get out then easily enough.”

二、《调皮的猴子》
It’s very hot.. An old man is asleep on the chair.
A fly comes and sits on the end of the man’s nose.
The old man has a naughty monkey.
He chases the fly. The fly comes back again and sits on the old man’s nose again.
The monkey chases it away again and again. This happens five or six times. The monkey is very angry.
He jumps up runs to the garden and picks up a large stone.
When the fly sits on the old man’s nose again the monkey hits it hard with the stone. He kills the fly and breaks the old man’s nose.
天气很热。有一位老人在椅子上不知不觉地睡着了。
一只苍蝇飞来落在老人的鼻子上。
那个老人有一只顽皮的猴子。

三、《Lay golden goose》
One morning a countryman went to his goose’s nest and saw a yellow and glitteringegg there.He took the egg home. To his delight he found that it was an egg of pure gold.
Every morning the same thing occurred and he soon became rich by selling his eggs.
The countryman became more and more greedy. He wanted to get all the gold at once so he killed the goose when he looked inside he found nothing in its body.
一天早晨，农夫去他的鹅窝看见一只金灿灿的蛋，他带回家后发现这是一只纯金蛋。每天早晨同样的事情都会发生，他也靠卖金蛋逐渐变得富足起来。
农夫变得越来越贪婪，他想立刻得到鹅肚子中所有的金蛋。于是他杀死了鹅，但是，在鹅肚中他什么也没找到。
四、《Monkeys Grasp for the Moon》
One daya little monkey is playing by the well.He looks in the well and shouts :“Oh!My god!The moon has fallen into the well!”An older monkeys runs over takes a lookand says“Goodness me!The moon is really in the water!”And olderly monkey comes over.He is very surprised as well and cries out:“The moon is in the well.”A group of monkeys run over to the well .They look at the moon in the well and shout:“The moon did fall into the well!Come on!Let’get it out!”Thenthe oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down with his feet on the branch .And he pulls the next monkey’s feet with his hands.All the other monkeys follow his suitAnd they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well.Just before they reach the moonthe oldest monkey raises his head and happens to see the moon in the skyHe yells excitedly “Don’t be so foolish!The moon is still in the sky!”

五、《Look for a Friend》
Sam is a little fish. He lives in the sea. He is very lonely. He wants to have a friend. The friend looks like him. Sam sees an ink fish. The ink fish has eight legs. He doesn’t look like Sam. So Sam goes away. Sam meets a shark. He wants to say hello to the shark. The shark opens his big mouth. Sam runs away quickly. Sam is tired and hungry. He wants to have a rest. Then he sees a round fish. She says to him. “Hello! Would you like to be my friend?” Sam answers: “Of course! But you are round. I am flat.” The round fish says: “But we are both fishes.
Sam thinks and says ”You are right. Let’s be friends.“ They become good friends.

六、《Two Little Monkeys》
The monkey mother has two little monkeys. She likes the younger not the other.
One day they were playing in a forest when a wolf came running at them. The monkey ran away with the younger monkey in a hurry and left the older alone. She climbed up a tree and held the younger in her arms.
After some time the wolf went away slowly. The monkey took the baby out of her arms. She was surprised to see that the baby had died for the baby was held in arms too highly. Very long time later she remembered to look for the older baby. The older baby was hiding in a wood. So he saved himself.
猴妈妈生了两个猴子。她喜欢小猴子而不喜欢大的。

A hippo lives in the zoo. I like him very much. I often go to see him. He often thinks of me too. Today is Sunday. It is fine today. I go to see him again. After I leave the zoo he follows me to my house. I give him lettuce cabbages bananas apples and other food. He eats them up. When I sing songs he stays in the pool. He is as quiet as a rabbit.
In the evening he jumps onto my bed with me. My mum tells him to go home. He has to pack his bag and go back to the zoo. My mum lets me see him every week.

A farmer and his son traveling by horse and buggy up a narrow lane met a motorist going the other way. There was no room to pass for two miles in either direction. The motorist in hurry honked his horn.

九、《Talking on the Telephone》
Each Sunday the minister called the children to the front of the church while he told them a story. Once he brought a telephone to better illustrate the idea of prayer.
“You talk to people on the telephone and don’t see them on the other end of xiaogushi8.com the line right?” he began. The children nodded yes. “Well talking to God is like talking on the telephone. He’s on the other end but you can’t see him. He is listening though.”
Just then a little boy piped up and asked “What’s his number?”
