in thepast, / traveling short
distances / took a long time. people either walked / or rode on a horse. now, / most people own cars. they can drive long distances /in short periods of time. and people can even fly / around the world / on airplanes / now.
in thepast, / people often died / because of poor medical treatment. even a toothache could / sometimes / kill a person! now, / vaccines protect people / from diseases. and doctors are making / more and more discoveries / every day.
如今，咱们日子在一个领先的世界advanced world。 运用着曩昔我们愿望不到的never imagined许多新创造many new inventions。
曩昔in the past，我们不能与别人守时联络regularly communicate，连寄一封信，都可以要花take几天、几个星期，甚至几个月才干收到。曩昔也没有电话telephone，我们只能面临面face to face交流。而如今nowadays，我们可以用手机cell phone给世界就任何当地的任何人打电话。有了互联网thanks to the internet，我们可以随时給别人发送电子邮件send email。
曩昔我们只能步行或是骑马，即就是很短的行程，也要花费很长时问take a long time。 而如今，许多人部有轿车
