2数字英语技巧
一.数字的两种根柢翻译办法
1.保存数字直译——需求数字的精确度和清楚度
(1)年代的表达
eg: 1980s 二十世纪8十年代
(2)长数字的表达
eg:the chinese news agency says china’s population has grown to 1,031,882,511 persons. (数字读作one billion thirty-one million eight hundred eighty-two thousand five hundred and eleven)，数字翻译为10亿3188万2511。
2. 扔掉数字意译——对数字进行迷糊化处置
eg: i have one hundred and one things to do this morning.
今日早上我有许多作业要做。
这儿的one hundred and one就做了迷糊处置，扔掉了数字意译为“许多”。
二.易无视的表达
1. mid-to-high-$200 range= $250-$300 250-300美元
low-to-mid-$200 range = $200-$250 200-250美元
eg: "we believe this lower priced ipad could be priced in the mid-to-high-$200 range," white wrote in a note to investors. "
怀特在客户陈述中标明，低价定位的ipad价格估计将在250-300美元规模内。
2. dozens of, scores of 许多
dozen是十二、一打的意思，score是二十的意思，但在词组dozens of, scores of中却不是“几十”的意思，根据《英汉习语大词典》中对它们的说明为“许多，许多”。
