一. “fool”
i do feel a fool.
可是,在be fool enough to do sth规划中,fool具有描述词的性质,不可以数,其前不必冠词:
如:
i was fool enough to believe him.
he was fool enough to tell them everything.
she fooled that man.
要标明“诈骗或人做某事”,可用fool sb into doing sth,习气上不说fool sb to do sth。
如:
i was fooled into believing their promises.
“foolish”
it was foolish of her to say such a thing.
=she was foolish to say such a thing.
he was foolish to leave his car unlocked.
=he was so foolish as to leave his car unlocked.
2. foolish, stupid, silly
1)foolish指无脑筋,短少常识或判别力,恰当汉语的“愚笨”;
2)stupid指智力、了解力或学习才能很差,恰当汉语的“笨”;
she is a silly woman, but not a stupid / foolish one.
